Purchased this to help keep our Jack Russell Terrier out of the living room mainly because we have a double-door doorway. Install was quite quick, took about 20 minutes from unpack till carried out. I see folks complaining about permanent - although this is true within the sense, which you cant simply move from one doorway to one more - the gate may be effortlessly removed from the little brackets that are screwed for the trim in the doorway (or wall within your case) - so just pop the gate out in the brackets, the brackets aren't an eye sore!

They're fairly simple to install, even though the directions were somewhat hard to understand. Thankfully, when you have a look at the pieces, it is quite simple to determine.

I purchased this gate, with an extension, to go in the leading of the stairs to be applied as a doggy gate. Was happy with the product, effortless to install, the only drawback was the narrow opening to walk through. This would most likely not work with anyone who was overweight. The component you walk via is only about 16-1/2" wide. Aside from that, was satisfied with the product for the price I paid.

I purchased this gate to keep two little dogs enclosed in my kitchen. It has been best for that job! It looks very nice, it was simple to install, and it was perfectly inexpensive. It might not be strong adequate to withstand a massive dog or youngster pushing/leaning on it but that is certainly not an issue with my Frenchies. I'm extremely pleased with my buy!

KidCo Configure Gate

I'm quite happy with the gate, although I had to spend $250 to make it fit the bottom of my stairs. I removed the left 24" panel, replaced with an 8" extension, then inserted 3 more 8" extensions on the right. The $30 8" extensions are way too expensive for what you get I think (and often arrive with scratches and rust due to the extra pole in the box).

We really needed a gate at the top of the stairs so that when I turn my eyes away from my son (briefly!), he doesn't crawl off and fall down them. However, we also have a cat and two English mastiffs in the house with free rein so I didn't want to have a permanent swing gate. This was the ideal solution. We don't have it up a majority of the time but when we do, it works great. My son pushes on it, but it doesn't budge; he can't fit under it and even the dogs and cat respect the boundary. We have had it for a few months, and no problems!

Half of this set (three panels) were used to create a perimeter around our 60" tv since our little guy immediately wanted to touch the screen on the new tv. We bought three and are very pleased. No, these are not a design statement, but neither are the wood versions at or near this price point. They use the same lever bar principle, but the notches are a little more closely spaced than the wood gate we have, which makes for a easier/better fit in the door frame. These are also much more rugged and appear will be durable. These are only 23" tall which is great for our Pomeranian and can easily be stepped over; a mid-sized dog or a jumper, or an older baby - not sure if this is tall enough.

This is an extra-wide gate which I use to block an extra-wide opening. Altho, the instructions don't say it, I am using it outside in a semi-sheltered area, and even though I've only had it up for a month, it shows no sign of weathering or deteriorating. I love it! My little dogs (3 of them about 25 pounds collectively) don't even THINK about trying to escape! I would have been a little happier if it were a little higher off the ground. However, I can climb over it easily when I need to, so that says something.

It was easy to install and keeps her out of every area of my apartment which could present a dangerous situation. I am able to keep my living room as it was without removing any of the coffee table or end table items. This gate was quite simple to install. We just used common sense, and followed the written instructions. It took about 20 minutes. For those who are less mechanically inclined, there is a youtube video that is very helpful. We are using this gate on our deck, at the top of the stairs leading down...not for a child, but for our dog. Both of my daughters, ages 5 & 8, have absolutely no trouble opperating the gate. It is attractive, and sturdy enough for our needs (we have a mid-sized dog -50 lbs- who doesn't jump all over it). We are VERY happy we bought this :)

Installed two of these on a stairway. The construction is solid, quality materials. The only issue I had was that the width of my opening is variable top versus bottom due to the baseboard, and the difference was right in between needing the small extension and the large extension.

This second iteration of the "same" product is made of a slightly thinner tubing structure, which makes it a little bit lighter overall, yet retains all its original great functionality.

Our home has large doorways in the main living areas, so extra wide gates are a must. I was really impressed by the look and ease of use on these! They were easy to install, but I did have my father aka worlds greatest handyman helping me! :)

The gate itself is made of what appears to be poplar (see below), and in its 36" wide configuration, is sufficiently strong to block kids and dogs. Edges are finished nicely (no splinters, no snags). It expands, collapses, and swings smoothly and quietly. In short: it's almost exactly like what I wanted.

I just received the gate today and put it up as soon as it came. Loved that it came with 2 extension pieces because I thought I would need both. It turned out that the opening I was using it on was the exact size of the gate with the two extensions on, without adding the adjustment wheels, so I had to remove the smaller one. Slightly disappointed by this because it leaves a lot of the adjustment screws showing, which wobble a little because they're stuck out so far. I may end up getting some small blocks to screw to the wall to fix that if I keep the gate.
