This gate was quite simple to install. We just used common sense, and followed the written instructions. It took about 20 minutes. For those who are less mechanically inclined, there is a youtube video that is very helpful. We are using this gate on our deck, at the top of the stairs leading down...not for a child, but for our dog. Both of my daughters, ages 5 & 8, have absolutely no trouble opperating the gate. It is attractive, and sturdy enough for our needs (we have a mid-sized dog -50 lbs- who doesn't jump all over it). We are VERY happy we bought this :)
this gate is amazing. we have 2 kiddos under 2...and we bought one of these gates for the top of our stairs and one for the bottom. we loooove them!!! we really hesitated since its almost $200 for both gates...but we are so happy with them. very sturdy and they look very streamlined and clean. the hubby put them up and was a little frustrated with the directions...there are no words!! only pictures...kind of silly not to give proper instruction for a baby safety product...but other than that..this is the perfect gate!
